Metropolitan Hilarion speaks at the session of the United Nations Third Committee

On 23 October 2012, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, took part in the session of the United National Third Committee held at the UN Headquarters in New York. The Third Committee deals with social, humanitarian and cultural affairs. Representatives of over one hundred and fifty countries of the world attended the session.

Metropolitan Hilarion presented address on “Opposition to Discrimination against Christians in the World as a Contribution to the Development of the Concept of Human Rights” in the English language. The audience has shown keen interest in the address.
