The Pastoral Committee of the Pan-Orthodox Bishops’ Assembly met on February 14, 2011, at the Cathedral of the Assumption in London. It was chaired by Archbishop Yelisey of Sourozh, chairman of the committee, and attended by representatives of all the Orthodox Churches in Great Britain.

The committee discussed preparations for the traditional Pan-Orthodox Vespers to be held this year on March 13, the Sunday of Orthodoxy, at the cathedral of the Moscow Patriarchate diocese of Sourozh.

The committee also considered a possibility for celebrating the Pan-Orthodox Vespers in Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow or Dublin, the Sourozh diocesan website has reported.

The meeting also dealt with preparations for a pan-Orthodox clergy conference. It was proposed to choose the Practice of the Holy Communion and Mixed Marriages as main themes of the forum.
