French officials visit Russian seminary in Paris

The head of the French Interior Ministry Central Bureau for Cults, Mr. Bertrand Gaume, and French Foreign Ministry adviser for religious affairs, Mr. Olivier Poupard, visited the Russian Seminary in Paris on June 30, 2010. The visit was reported by the official website of the Moscow Patriarchate’s diocese of Korsun on July 3.

The French officials met with Father Nestor Sirotenko, and Hieromonk Alexander Sinyakov, rector of the seminary, as well as Archpriest Nicholas Makar and Prof. Dimitri Schakhovskoy, lecturers at the seminary.

The honorary guests inspected the seminary and met with seminarians in the library. They underscored the importance of the existence of a Russian theological seminary in France and good contacts between secular authorities and the diocese.
