On Great Thursday Patriarch Kirill celebrates Divine Liturgy and Washing of Feet rite

On April 1, the Holy and Great Thursday, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia celebrated vespers and the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great at the cathedral Church of Christ the Saviour. He was assisted by a great assembly of bishops and priests.

During the liturgy, His Holiness ordained as presbyter Deacon Sergiy Yelliseyev of the Moscow Theological Academy’s church of the Protecting Veil, a lecturer of the academy.

After the Prayer Before the Ambon, His Holiness Kirill celebrated the rite of the Washing of Feet.

Then His Holiness greeted the congregation on the occasion of the Great Thursday and delivered a Patriarchal homily, the Patriarchal press service has reported.
