His Holiness Patriarch Kirill’s book “Freedom and Responsibility: A Search for Harmony” in the Korean language is presented in Seoul
On 15 June 2017, the book written by the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, “Freedom and Responsibility: A Search for Harmony” in the Korean language, was presented at the capital of the Republic of Korea. This book has been translated into twenty-six languages, including the Chinese and the Japanese. The translation into the Korean was made under the direction the Rev. Paul Kang, administrator of Korean Orthodox Mission, the Russian Orthodox Church outside of Russia.
Archbishop Sergy of Solnechnogorsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Administrative secretariat and administrator of the Moscow Patriarchate’s parishes in the countries of East and Southeast Asia arrived in Seoul for the presentation with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. Accompanying Archbishop Sergy are Mr. Petrovsky of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations and Mr. Sokolov, assistant to the head of the Administrative secretariat.
The presentation took place at the Embassy of the Russia Federation to the Republic of Korea. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Korea, H.E. Alexander Timonin, noted the importance of Patriarch Kirill’s book published in the Korean language for the strengthening of humanitarian relations between Russia and Korea.
Archbishop Sergy conveyed greetings from His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and his special thanks to the Rev. Kang and all who have contributed to the publication.
Attending the presentation were the head of the Anglican Church of Korea, apostolic nuncio in Korea, other representatives of Christian Churches, professors of the universities, diplomats, and compatriots.
The publication of the book by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia was widely covered in the Korean mass media.
