On 9 October 2015, H.E. Zoran Jocović, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Montenegro to the Russian Federation, visited the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations and was received by Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, the DECR chairman. They exchanged opinions on the issues of mutual interest.

Ambassador Jocović also met with Archpriest Nikolai Balashov, DECR vice-chairman. Discussed were the outstanding role of canonical Orthodoxy in the history of Montenegro and the life of its resident at present, as well as an important contribution of the Serbian Orthodox Church in the development of relations between Montenegro and Russia, and also the preparation for the celebration of the 1000th anniversary of the demise of the holy Prince Jovan-Vladimir to be held next year.

Attending the meetings were DECR staff member, Andrei Khoshev and Miguel Palacio.
