Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk meets with Latvia’s Ambassador to Russia

On 16th September 2020, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, met with H.E. Mr. Māris Riekstiņš, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to the Russian Federation.

They were joined in the meeting by Archpriest Sergy Zvonarev, DECR secretary for far abroad countries, and Mr. Edmunds Vizla, Third Secretary of the Embassy of Latvia in Russia.
Metropolitan Hilarion warmly welcomed the guest to the oldest synodal department. Mr. Riekstiņš thanked the hierarch for the meeting.

The participants in the meeting discussed various issues pertaining to the cooperation between the Department for External Church Relations and the Latvian diplomatic mission.
