His Holiness Patriarch Kirill sends Easter greetings to the heads of foreign countries of Orthodox tradition
On the occasion of the feast of the Radiant Resurrection of Christ His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia sent letters of greeting to the heads of the foreign countries of Orthodox tradition, in particular, to President of Greece Katerina Sakellaropoulou, President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades, President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, and President of North Macedonia Stevo Pendarovski.
The letters read as follows:
CHRIST IS RISEN!
Please accept my heartfelt greetings with the Holy Pascha.
The Saviour’s victory over death, delivering us “from the bondage of corruption” (Rom 8:21), grants unto us hope for the life everlasting and inspires us to commit good deeds in this transient life and to work actively for the benefit of those far and near.
Despite the discords, divisions and conflicts existing in the world, let us combine the efforts of various church and governmental institutions and of all people of good will in the name of strengthening lofty morals ideals in society and building up peace and civil accord, as well as for the sake of consolidation of our actions aimed at overcoming the virus infection which has become a global threat.
On this day of celebration, I would like to wish you spiritual and bodily strength, help from the Risen Lord and great success in your responsible service.
Yours respectfully,
+KIRILL
PATRIARCH OF MOSCOW AND ALL RUSSIA
