Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk meets with Ambassador of Austria to Russia

On 16 January 2020, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR), met with H.E. Johannes Aigner, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to the Russian Federation.

They were joined at the meeting, which took place at the DECR premises, by Archpriest Sergy Zvonarev, secretary for far abroad countries.

Metropolitan Hilarion warmly greeted the guest. Discussed were the religious situation in Ukraine, inter-Orthodox relations and relations between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic Church, as well as issues of practical cooperation.

Metropolitan Hilarion wished Ambassador Aigner success in his diplomatic mission and presented him with a memorable gift.
