Annual session of the ‘Dialogue of Civilizations’ Rhodes Forum takes place in Greece
The 17th session of the World Public Forum – Dialogue of Civilizations was held on the island of Rhodes on October 11-12, 2019. Taking part in the session were prominent representatives of different states, politicians, scientists, businessmen and journalists who discussed various forms of dialogue among nations and cultures with the purpose of facilitating peaceful development, prosperity and stability.
Attending the forum with the blessing of Metropolitan Hilarion, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR) was Archpriest Sergy Zvonarev, DECR secretary for far abroad countries.
Metropolitan Hilarion has sent a message of greetings to the organizers and participants in the forum.
Representatives of international organization, national parliaments and research centers, who took part in the open session “Thirty Years after the Fall of the Berlin Wall,’ shared different views on the nature of democracy, but agreed that the modern world needs even closer cooperation among countries and nations for the sake of universal peace and security. They noted the necessity of learning to respect diversity of cultures and nations and appreciate the diversity of the world.
