A delegation of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of Los Angeles made a pilgrimage to Moscow and St. Petersburg on September 19-27, 2019, at the invitation of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and with the blessing of Patriarch Tawadros II in the course of activities of the Commission for dialogue between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Coptic Church.

The delegation consisted of Bishop Kyrillos, dean of the St. Athanasius and St. Cyril  Coptic Theological School; Bishop Abraham, Auxiliary Bishop for Diakonia; Bishop Suriel, and hieromonk Dawoud El-Anthony, representative of the Coptic Church to Russia.

On September 19-21, the delegation visited the holy sites of Moscow and its suburbs, including the Cathedral Church   of Christ the Saviour, the Red Square, the Martha and Mary charity, the Resurrection New Jerusalem Monastery, the Laura of the Holy Trinity and St. Sergius and the Intercession Convent in Khotkovo.

On September 22-27, representatives of the Coptic Church visited St. Petersburg, where they got acquainted with religious, historical and cultural sites of the Russian Northern capital, including the Alexander Nevsky Laura, monasteries and cathedrals, the State Hermitage Museum, the Russian National Library and the St. Petersburg Theological Academy where they were received by its rector, Bishop Siluan of Petergof.
