DECR chairman meets with Russian ambassadors in Jordan and Israel

On September 22, 2019, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations (DECR), while on a working trip to countries of the Middle East with a blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, met with Russian Federation Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, G. F. Desyatnikov.

On September 23, Metropolitan Hilarion arrived in the Holy Land. In Jerusalem, he met with the Russian Federation Ambassador to Israel, A. D. Viktorov. They discussed the development of pilgrimages to Christian holy places in the Holy Land and other matters of mutual concern.

Taking part in the meeting were also Archimandrite Alexander (Yelisov), head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, and Archpriest Igor Yakimchuk, DECR secretary for inter-Orthodox relations.
