Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk meets with participants in the 5th Summer Institute for representatives of the Roman Catholic Church
On 26th August 2019, participants in the Summer Institute for representatives of the Roman Catholic Church visited the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations and met with Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, DECR chairman and rector of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Theological Institute of Postgraduate Studies. Metropolitan Hilarion told the guests about the DECR’s history and major spheres of its activities, as well as about the current relations with the Roman Catholic Church, and answered numerous questions.
That same day the group visited the Novospassky Stavropegic Monastery, where it was greeted by Bishop Dionisy of Voskresensk, First Vicar of His Holiness the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia.
The members of the delegation also acquainted themselves with the activities of the Synodal Department for Church’s Relations with Society and Mass Media, and visited the Synodal Department for Church Charity and Social Ministry.
The Summer Institute for representatives of the Roman Catholic Church is held from 23rd August to 1st September under the auspices of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Theological Institute of Postgraduate Studies. The Institute is organized within the framework of academic and humanitarian cooperation between the Moscow Patriarchate and the Holy See with the support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation and the Urbi et Orbi Catholic Charity Foundation.
