DECR chairman meets with Ambassador of Denmark to Russia

On 20 June 2019, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR) met with H.E. Carsten Søndergaard, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark to the Russian Federation. They were joined in the meeting by deacon Andrei Titushkin of the DECR secretariat for far abroad countries.

Metropolitan Hilarion warmly greeted the guest at the Synodal department in charge of external relations of the Russian Church. Ambassador Søndergaard thanked Metropolitan Hilarion for the meeting, explained his work in Moscow and asked him to dwell on the ecclesiastical situation in Ukraine, canonical order of the Moscow Patriarchate, social ministry of the Russian Church and theological education in Russia. Metropolitan Hilarion added to his answers some words about cooperation between the Church and the state.
