DECR secretary for far abroad countries meets with the head of International Committee of the Red Cross delegation in Russia, Belarus and Moldova
On 6 May 2019, Archpriest Sergy Zvonarev, secretary for far abroad countries, Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR), met with Mr. Magne Bart, head of International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation in the RF, Belarus and Moldova.
They were joined in the meeting, which took place at the DECR premises, by hieromonk Kirill (Peregudin) of the DECR secretariat for far abroad countries; Ms Margarita Nelyubova of the DECR secretariat for inter-Christian relations; and Ms Veronika Vybornova, specialist, Department of Communication of the regional delegation and director of historical, archival and exhibition projects.
Archpriest Zvonarev welcomed the guests on behalf of Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the DECR and underscored the importance of the meeting of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia with the IRCR President Peter Maurer. As a follow up of this meeting that took place at St. Daniel’s Monastery on 6 December 2018, the DECR and IRCR representatives discussed their cooperation in future, including a dialogue on evaluation of historical heritage and current situation for the solution of humanitarian problems during military conflicts, as well as issues of mutual interest.
