Easter celebrated at Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church in Damascus

On April 28, 2019, on Easter night, the procession with the cross, the Matins and the Liturgy were celebrated at the church of the Russian Orthodox Church’s Representation in Damascus. Among those who attended the divine service were H.E. Mr. Alexander Yefimov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Syrian Arab Republic; Orthodox staff members of the Embassy and the UN mission; and the parishioners of the church.
The divine service was celebrated by Hegumen Arseniy (Sokolov), representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East. A festive repast followed.
In the afternoon of April 28, Hegumen Arseniy visited the Damascus residence of the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Antioch, greeted His Beatitude Patriarch John X with the Radiant Resurrection of Christ, presented him with memorable gifts and attended an Easter reception.
