Metropolitan Hilarion meets with Kirche in Not delegation

On 18 April 2019, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR), met with Rev. Martin Barta, confessor, and Mr. Pyotr Gumenyuk, head of the Russian section, the Kirche in Not Foundation.

They were joined in the meeting, which took place at the parish house at the Church of “Joy to All the Afflicted” icon of the Mother of God on Bolshaya Ordynka street in Moscow, by hieromonk Stefan (Igumnov), DECR secretary for inter-Christian relations.

Opinions were exchanged on the topical issues of bilateral cooperation. For instance, discussed were results of the activities of the Joint working group of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic Church, common projects of aid to the persecuted Christians in the Middle East and consolidation of traditional Christian values in society.
