Aid for Ukrainian Orthodox communities thrust out of their church buildings is collected in Montenegro
On 5 April 2019, Archpriest Ostoja Knežević, rector of the Cathedral of St. Basil of Ostrog in Nikšić, Montenegro, who was on pilgrimage to Ukraine with the blessing of Bishop Joanikije of Budimlja and Nikšić, brought funds collected by parishioners of the Cathedral to the communities of the Ternopol diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church as their church buildings have been seized.
Archpriest Knežević also brought an icon of St. Basil of Ostrog as a gift from the brethren of the Monastery of Ostrog to Metropolitan Sergy of Ternopol and Kremenets.
That same day, Archpriest Knežević concelebrated with Metropolitan Sergy at the stavropegic Korets Convent of the Holy Trinity. On April 7, the feast of the Annunciation, the guest from Montenegro took part in the divine service celebrated by His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine at the Kiev Laura of the Caves.
On April 8, a cleric of the Serbian Orthodox Church met with Metropolitan Antony of Borispol and Brovary, chancellor of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
