DECR secretary had a working meeting with the head of Republika Srbska representation in Russia

September 4, 2018 – Archpriest Sergiy Zvonarev, secretary for the far abroad of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations (DECR), met with the head of the representation of Republika Srbska (part of Bosnia and Herzegovina), Dusko Perovic, councillor of the president of Republika Srpska, at the DECR.

Archpriest Sergiy warmly welcomed the guest to the synodal department responsible for international contacts of the Russian Orthodox Church.

They discussed historical relations between the Russian and Serbian peoples, emigration from Russia to the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenians in the first half of the 20^th century as well as the present situation of Russian compatriots in Republic Srpska and inter-church relations.

They also considered matters of mutual concern including projects aimed to further strengthening of relations between the fraternal peoples of the two countries.
