Commemoration day of the Russian Royal Passion-Bearers celebrated in Belgrade
On 17 July 2018, the commemorative events marking the centenary of the martyrdom of the Russian royal family took place in Belgrade.
Officiating at the Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Holy Trinity (Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church in Belgrade) was His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia.
After the service the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church led the numerous worshippers in the procession with the cross to the monument of the Holy Tsar Nicholas II the Passion-Bearer, where His Holiness celebrated a molyeben and delivered a homily devoted to the personality and heroism of the last Russian Emperor and to the spiritual revival in Russia.
On July 18, a round table meeting on Tsar Nicholas II Romanov – Sovereign and Saint, organized by the Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church in Belgrade, took place at the University of Belgrade. Among the keynote speakers were Archpriest Vitaly Tarasyev, rector of the ROC Representation, Archimandrite Mihajlo (Bikovič), cleric of the Serbian Orthodox Church, and the Serbian scholars.
