On 3 June 2018, 1st Sunday after Pentecost, commemoration day of all saints, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow and officiated at the consecration of Archimandrite Feoktist (Igumnov) as Bishop of Gorodische, vicar of the Volgograd diocese (Volgograd Metropolia).
Concelebrating with His Holiness were Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Department for External Church Relations; Archbishop Yevgeny, Metropolitan Elect of Tallinn and All Estonia, Primate of the Estonian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate; Metropolitan German of Volgograd and Kamyshy; Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Dodona (Orthodox Church of Greece); Metropolitan Kliment of Kaluga and Borovsk, chairman of the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church; Metropolitan Georgy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas; Metropolitan Ignaty of Vologda and Kirillov; Archbishop Sergy of Solnechnogorsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Administrative Secretariat; Bishop Lazar of Narva and Prichudye; Bishop Yelisei of Uryupinsk and Novoanninsky; Bishop Ioann of Kalach-on-Don and Pallasovka; Bishop Agafangel of Norilsk and Turukhansk; Bishop Antony of Sarapul and Mozhga; Bishop Sergy of Maardu, vicar of the Tallinn diocese; Bishop Feodorit of Skopin and Shatsk; Protopresbyter Vladimir Divakov, Patriarchal secretary for Moscow; Archpriest Mikhail Ryazantsev, sacristan of the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour; Archpriest Vyacheslav Zhebelev, secretary of the Volgograd Metropolia Administration; Archpriest Sergy Privalov, chairman of the Synodal Department for Cooperation with the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies; and the Moscow clergy.
During the Lesser Entrance His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia read out and handed over to Archbishop Yevgeny, Primate Elect of the Estonian Orthodox Church, a charter that read: “By this charter, in compliance with clause 3 of the Patriarchal Tomos of 26 April 1993 and with the norms of canon law, We confirm the declaration of will of the Council of the Estonian Orthodox Church concerning the election of Your Holiness as Metropolitan of Tallinn and All Estonia, Primate of the Estonian Orthodox Church.”
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill read out a decree elevating Archbishop Yevgeny to the rank of metropolitan due to his election as Primate of the Estonian Orthodox Church and granting him the right of wearing the second panagia within the boundaries of the Estonian Orthodox Church. The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church elevated Archbishop Yevgeny to the rank of metropolitan.
Archbishop Sergy of Solnechnogorsk read out the Patriarchal message marking the International Day for Protection of Children.
During the Liturgy His Holiness Patriarch Kirill lifted up a prayer for peace in Ukraine.
After the service the Primate of the Russian Church delivered a homily and greeted Mr. Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, General of the Police, and all the staff members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with the 300th anniversary of the Russian police.
