His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia congratulated the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America on the 5th anniversary of his elevation to the Throne of Archbishops of Washington, Metropolitans of All America and Canada.
Your Beatitude,
beloved brother in the Lord and concelebrant at God’s altar:
I cordially greet You with the fifth anniversary of Your enthronement as Archbishop of Washington, Metropolitan of All America and Canada.
By God’s providence You have been elected for primatial ministry to continue the labors of St. Tikhon, St. Herman of Alaska and other preachers of the Orthodox faith on the American continent. While endeavoring to take example of their heroic exploits, You display concern about illumining the contemporaries with the light of the Gospel and about success of the clergy and flock entrusted to Your care in pursuing “righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, gentleness” (1 Tim 6:11).
While joining the fervent prayers offered for You today, I wish You peace, good health and the all-strengthening God’s aid in Your primatial labours.
