During his archpastoral visit to the parishes in Portugal on 18-21 January 2018, Bishop Nestor of Korsun met with Cardinal Manuel José Clementi, Patriarch of Lisbon, at the premises of the Catholic archdiocese.

Bishop Nestor told Cardinal-Patriarch Clementi about history and the present-day life of the Russian Orthodox parishes in Western Europe. The development of the Orthodox-Catholic cooperation in various spheres was discussed.

The result of the meeting held in the atmosphere of mutual understanding was the permanent rent contract of beneficence: the Sao Domingos Catholic church located in the upscale Lapa area in the capital of Portugal is leased to the Orthodox community.

Bishop Nestor together with the dean and clerics of the Russian Orthodox parishes celebrated the Office of the Great Blessing of Waters in the leased church. The choir of the St. Genevieve of Paris Spiritual and Educational Centre sang at the divine service, website of the Diocese of Korsun reports.
