Christmas reception at Russian General Consulate in New York
January 11, 2018 – An official Christmas reception on behalf of Consul General S. Ovsyannikov and Administrator of Patriarchal Parishes in the USA Bishop Ioann of Naro-Fominsk was given at the Russian General Consulate in New York.
The festive event was attended by Vicar Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan of the Eastern America diocese, Bishop Daniel of Santa Rosa (Orthodox Church in America, OCA), Archpriest Thomas Zain, rector of the St. Nicholas Cathedral of the Metropolia of Antioch in the USA, Protopresbyter Leonid Kishkovsky, director of the OCA’s Office of External Affairs and Interchurch Relations, Archpriest John Gillions, chancellor of the Orthodox Church in America, Moscow Patriarchate and Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia clergy in the USA, as well as representatives of diplomatic missions of various countries, and leaders of public and cultural organizations in America.
Ambassador S. Ovsyannikov and Bishop Ioann welcomed the gathering and Bishop Ioann greeted those present on behalf of His Holiness Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia.
The reception continued with a recital given by the Passion-bearer Emperor Nicholas Choir (Russian
Church Outside Russia).
