On 8 December 2017, His Beatitude Archbishop Chrysostomos II of Nova Justiniana and All Cyprus completed his visit to Moscow timed to the celebrations marking the centenary of the restoration of the Patriarchate in the Russian Church.

The delegation that accompanied Archbishop Chrysostomos included Metropolitan Georgios of Paphos, Metropolitan Isaias of Tamasos and Oreini, Archimandrite Ioannis (Ioannou), Deacon Michalis Nikolaou, and Mr. Costas Kikis.

Apart from taking part in the official celebrations, the Primate of the Church of Cyprus officiated at the Divine Liturgy in St. Daniel’s Monastery on December 3, and visited the Sretensky Monastery, the Convent of the Protecting Veil of the Mother of God, and the Convent of the Conception by St. Anna of the Most Holy Theotokos. While in Moscow, His Beatitude met with Mr. Sergey Stepashin, chairman of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society, and visited the Museum of Cosmonautics.

At the Sheremetyevo Airport the delegation of the Church of Cyprus was seen off by Bishop Simon of Shakhty and Millerovo, Archpriest Igor Yakimchuk, DECR secretary for inter-Orthodox relations, and Mr. Sergey Monakhov, DECR staff member.
