On 1 December 2017, at the invitation of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, His Beatitude Metropolitan Rastislav of the Czech Lands and Slovakia arrived in Moscow to take part in the celebrations marking the centenary of the All-Russian Local Council of 1917-1918 and the restoration of Patriarchate in the Russian Orthodox Church.

Accompanying Metropolitan Rastislav were Archbishop Michal of Prague, Archimandrite Seraphim (Shemyatovsky), rector of the Representation of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia in Moscow, and Archdeacon Maxim (Durila), cleric of the Prešov diocese.

The guests were met at the Sheremetyevo Airport by Metropolitan Sergy of Barnaul and Altai, Bishop Paramon of Bronnitsy, Archpriest Nikolai Lischenyuk, rector of the Russian Orthodox Church’s Metochion in Karlovy Vary, and representatives of the Moscow clergy.
