DECR chairman meets with Ambassador of Romania to Russia

On 24 November 2017, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR), met with H.E. Vasile Soare, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to the Russian Federation.

They were joined in the meeting, which took place at the Ss Cyril and Methodius Theological Institute of Postgraduate Studies, by Mr. Laurenço Constantinu, counselor of the Embassy of Romania, and deacon Andrei Titushkin, a staff member of the DECR secretariat for far abroad countries.

Metropolitan Hilarion warmly greeted the head of the diplomatic mission at the theological institution of higher education.

The results of the visit of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia to Romania on October 26-28, 2017, were discussed and plans of cooperation between the DECR and the Embassy of Romania were shaped.
