Metropolitan Hilarion meets with chairman of Russian World foundation

November 22, 2007 – Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations (DECR) and rector of the Ss Cyril and Methodius Institute of Post-graduate Studies (CMI), met with the chairman of the State Duma committee for education and science and chairman of the Russian World foundation board of directors, V. Nikonov, at the CMI.

Participating in the meeting were also V. Kochin, executive director of the Russian World foundation, Archpriest Sergiy Zvonarev, DECR secretary for the far abroad, Hieromonk Ioann (Kopeikin), CMI pro-rector for training, and I. Parfenov, director of the CMI continued education center.

Metropolitan Hilarion warmly welcomed the guests to the institute. During their meeting they discussed plans for cooperation between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Russian World foundation in the nearest future and considered matters of mutual concern.
