DECR chairman meets with students of Higher Diplomatic Course

November 14, 2017 – Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations (DECR), met with a group of students of the Higher Diplomatic Course of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Among the course students are Russia’s newly appointed ambassadors and new appointees to Russian diplomatic missions abroad, general consuls and envoys. The meeting was also attended by staff members of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Diplomatic Academy.

Metropolitan Hilarion introduced those present to basic areas of the Russian Orthodox Church’s external work.

In conclusion of the meeting, the DECR chairman answered questions from diplomats.
