His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia expressed condolences over the passing of a hierarch of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Dometian of Vidin. The text of his message is given below.

Your Holiness, beloved in the Lord Brother and Concelebrant,

I was grieved to learn about the death of His Eminence Metropolitan Dometian of Vidin.

Vladyka Dometian was a very good friend of the Russian Church. He often took part in various inter-Orthodox meetings and negotiations. The late archpastor had great spiritual experience and keen interest and knowledge in various spheres. His kindness and empathy gained him love and respect of many people.

I lift up my prayers for the repose of the soul of the newly departed Metropolitan Dometian in the mansions of the righteous and ask you to convey my words of consolation and support to all those who knew and loved him.
