September 1, 2017 – Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church Relations (DECR) visited the residence of the British ambassador to Moscow for a dinner given on the occasion of the arrival in Moscow of the new rector of the Anglican Parish of St. Andrew, Rev. Canon Malcolm Rogers.

Among the attendees were also Archbishop Celestino Migliore, apostolic nuncio in Russia, Archbishop Dietrich Brauer, head of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Russia, Bishop Robert Innes of Gibraltar and Archdeacon Collin Williams (Church of England), and Metropolitan Kallistos of Diokleia (Patriarchate of Constantinople), who is on pilgrimage to Russia.

Ambassador Laurie Bristow introduced Canon Malcolm Rogers to the gathering. Then an exchange of view took place on a wide range of issues concerning the place and role of religion in modern society.
