Head of the Administration for Institutions Abroad visits Norway
On 13-16 July 2017, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, Bishop Antony of Bogorodsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Administration for Institutions Abroad, visited the Russian Orthodox parishes in Norway.
O July 13, Bishop Antony visited Trondheim. Accompanied by Rev. Alexander Volokhan, rector of the Parish of the Holy Princess Anna of Novgorod, the archpastor said a moleben of thanksgiving at the church. Later he met with its parishioners and answered their questions.
On July 14, Bishop Antony visited the Parish of the Holy Great Martyr Irene in Stavanger, where he celebrated a prayer service and met with members of the parish council and parishioners.
On July 15, the archpastor officiated at the Divine Liturgy at the Parish of the Holy Theophany in Bergen. Concelebrating with him were Rev. Dimitry Ostanin, rector of the parish, and ordained pilgrims. The place where the service was celebrated, had been purchased the day before by the parish and now belongs to the Russian Orthodox Church.
On July 16, Bishop Antony celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Parish of the Holy Princess Olga, Equal-to-the-Apostles, in Oslo. Concelebrating with the archpastor were Hegumen Kliment (Huhtamäki), dean of the Moscow Patriarchate’s parishes in Norway, and the clergy that had arrived in Oslo on that occasion. During the Lesser Entrance, Bishop Antony elevated Hegumen Kliment to the rank of archimandrite upon the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
That same day Bishop Antony met with H.E. Mr. Teimuraz Ramishvili, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Norway, and departed for Moscow.
The archpastor was accompanied on his visit by Deacon Sergiy Kalashnikov, a staff member of the Administration for Institutions Abroad.
