On 21 June 2017, Hegumen Philip (Ryabykh), representative of the Russian Orthodox Church to the Council of Europe and acting representative of the Russian Orthodox Church to the European international organizations, took part in a session of the Committee of Representatives of the Orthodox Churches to the European Union (CROCEU).

Taking part in the meeting were also representatives of the other Local Orthodox Churches to the European international organizations: Metropolitan Athanasios of Achaia (Orthodox Church of Greece), Bishop Porfyrios of Neapolis (Orthodox Church of Cyprus), Archimandrite Aimilianos Bogiannou (Patriarchate of Constantinople), Priest George Valku (Romanian Orthodox Church), and Hieromonk Nektarios Ioannou (Orthodox Church of Cyprus), secretary of the Committee. The participants in the session discussed the plans for 2017-2018 to hold a number of events dedicated to the situation of Christians in the Middle East, as well as the organization of the Committee’s annual field session, which this year will take place in Moscow.

The same day later Hegumen Philip (Ryabykh) held a meeting with Bishop Porfyrios of Neapolis, representative of the Orthodox Church of Cyprus to the European organizations, to discuss various issues of cooperation within the framework of the Committee of Representatives of the Orthodox Chruches to the European Union. Hegumen Philip also told Bishop Porfyrios about the activities of the Russian Church’s Representation in Strasbourg and the construction of the Church of All Saints, website of the Russian Orthodox Church’s Representation to the European international organizations reports.
