Metropolitan Hilarion meets with Ambassador of Belarus to Russia

On 21 June 2017, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, met with H.E. Mr. Igor Petrishenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus. They were joined in the meeting by Deacon Andrei Titushkin, DECR staff member.

Metropolitan Hilarion warmly greeted the head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission and noted a high level of relationships between the Moscow Patriarchate and the leadership of the Republic of Belarus.

Mr. Petrishenko told the DECR chairman how important the visit of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia to Belarus in 2015 was for its citizens.

The participants in the meeting discussed some topical issues of cooperation.
