DECR chairman meets with leadership of the Lebanese-Russian House

On 3 June 2017, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, met with Nicolas Badawi, president of the Lebanese-Russian organization and its other leaders. The meeting took place at the parish residence of the Moscow church dedicated to the icon of the Mother of God called ‘Joy to Al the Afflicted”.

Metropolitan Hilarion greeted the guests and assured them in traditionally friendly attitude of the Russian Orthodox Church to the people of Lebanon.

Mr. Badawi thanked the DECR chairman for the meeting, told him about the situation in Lebanon and on behalf of the Lebanese-Russian House presented him the Golden medal – the highest award of the organization.

At the invitation of Metropolitan Hilarion the guests prayed at the night service celebrated in the church.
