On 30 May 2017, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, visited the cultural centre “Ruh Ordo” named after Chingiz Aytmatov located on the bank of Issyk-Kul Lake in Kyrgyzstan.

Metropolitan Hilarion accompanied the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church on his primatial visit to the country.

The centre, named after the famous author Ch. Aytmatov, is a complex which includes two exhibition halls with ethnic symbols of the nomadic people, photo-gallery, hall of portraits and concert hall, the Aytmatov museum and religious buildings of the main religions of the world.

The DECR chairman visited the Orthodox chapel and the museum and was shown around other buildings on the territory.
