Metropolitan Hilarion meets with Apostolic Nuncio to the Russian Federation

On 7 May 2017, at the parish of the ‘Joy of All Who Sorrow’ Icon of the Mother of God in Moscow, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, met with Archbishop Celestino Migliore, Apostolic Nuncio to the Russian Federation.

The Apostolic Nuncio introduced to Metropolitan Hilarion the newly appointed first secretary of the Apostolic Nunciature in Moscow, Msgr. Erwin Lengel.

The participants in the meeting discussed the current state of bilateral relations between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Holy See, as well as the cooperation between the Department for External Church Relations and the Apostolic Nunciature in Russia.
