Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, greeted Archbishop Leo of Karelia and All Finland with his Name Day. The text of the letter is given below.
His Eminence LEO
Archbishop of Karelia and All Finland
Your Eminence, dear Vladyka,
Please accept my heartfelt greetings with the commemoration day of your heavenly patron – St Leo the Great.
Like this saint pleasing unto God, you were called by the Lord to carry out a lofty ministry of upholding and proclaiming to the world the unchanging salvific glad tidings of the Orthodox faith.
May the Lord Who hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Tim 1:7) strengthen Your Eminence in your labours to His glory, and may He grant unto you His blessed help and multiply the times and the seasons of your service to the Holy Church.
With love in the Lord,
/+Hilarion/
