His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia expressed condolences to Mr. Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, over the plane crash that had occurred in north Pakistan on December 7, and claimed many lives. The text of the message is given below.

Your Excellency, dear Mr. Prime Minister,

I was grieved to learn about the plane crash near the city of Havelian. The tragedy claimed the lives of 48 people. Please accept my sincere condolences.

I kindly ask you to convey to the relatives and friends of the victims my words of support and wishes of strength and fortitude in their sorrow. May the Merciful Lord grant consolation unto their hearts.
