Presentation of the Bulgarian edition of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill’s book ‘The Mystery of Repentance’ takes place in Sofia
On 6 December 2016, the Bulgarian edition of the book ‘The Mystery of Repentance’ by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia was presented at the Church of the Divine Wisdom in Bulgaria’s capital. The book was published by the Metochion of the Russian Orthodox Church in Sofia to mark the 70th birthday of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Among those who took part in the presentation were Archbishop Amvrosy of Peterhof, rector of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy and Seminary; Archimandrite Gerasim (Georgiev), chief secretary of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church; Rev. Angel Angelov, protosynkellos of the archdiocese of Sofia; Archimandrite Philip (Vasiltsev), rector of the Patriarchal Metochion of the Russian Orthodox Church; archpriest Ioann Karamikhalev, translator of Patriarch Kirill’s homilies; Hieromonk Zotik (Gayevsky), secretary of the Russian Orthodox Church’s Representation in Sofia; H.E. Mr. Anatoly Makarov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Bulgaria; as well as clerics of the archdiocese of Sofia and numerous guests.
Greeting all those present, Archimandrite Philip, rector of the Patriarchal Metochion in Sofia, expressed his hope that the book marking the 70th bithday of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, would be beneficial to many priests and laypeople in Bulgaria who will have an opportunity to read homilies of the Primate of the Russian Church in their native language.
In his address, Archbishop Amvrosy of Peterhof noted that His Holiness Patriarch Kirill’s word touched the hearts of many people, and thanked all those who had contributed to the publication of the book.
A number of copies will be presented to the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, as well as to theological educational institutions and public libraries.
