Primate of Orthodox Church of Cyprus meets with head of Moscow Patriarchate office for institutions abroad
On November 28, 2016, Bishop Antoniy of Bogorodsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate office for institutions abroad, met with His Beatitude Chrysostomos II, Archbishop of New Justiniana and All Cyprus, in Nicosia.
The meeting, which took place at His Beatitude’s residence, was also attended by Rev. George Vidyakin, rector of the Russian Parish in Limassol.
Bishop Antoniy informed His Beatitude, among other things, about the progress made in the construction of a Russian church in Cyprus and the life of the Russian-speaking Orthodox community in the island.
His Beatitude Chrysostomos expressed support for the project and wished God’s help to all the construction workers. He also recalled with warmth his visit to Moscow last week and the participation of the delegation of his Church in the celebrations devoted to the 70th birthday of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
On the same day, Bishop Antoniy took part in the general meeting of the foundation for the construction of the St. Nicholas church.
After the meeting, His Grace visited the Cyprus representation of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem to meet Metropolitan Timotheos of Bostra, the website of the Moscow Patriarchate office for institutions abroad reports.
