On November 14, 2016, Bishop Nestor of Korsun attended the Orthodox Bishops’ Assembly in Spain and Portugal.

The meeting was held at the church of St. Mary Magdalene Equal-to-the-Apostles and presided over by Metropolitan Polycarpos of Spain and Portugal (Patriarchate of Constantinople). Among the attendees was also Bishop Timotej of Spain and Portugal (Romanian Patriarchate).

The assembly discussed a wide range of issues concerning the legal registration of the Assembly, translation of liturgical texts, state registration of church marriages and establishment of the feast of the Synaxis of Spanish Saints for unified veneration by all the Local Orthodox Churches represented in the Assembly, the diocese of Korsun website reports.
