Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations (DECR) has greeted His Beatitude Tikhon, Metropolitan of All America and Canada, on the occasion of his Name Day. The message of greetings reads:

Your Beatitude,

I cordially greet you on the occasion of your Name Day.

As the First Hierarch of the Orthodox Church in America, you set your multi-ethnic flock an example of doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity (Tit. 2:7), emulating in virtues your Heavenly Patron – St. Tikhon the Patriarch of Moscow, who became famous for his missionary achievements in the North American continent.

In the year of your 50th birthday, I wish Your Beatitude from my heart the beneficial replenishment of your spiritual and physical resources, God’s inexhaustible help in your lofty Primatial ministry and joy in the Lord.

With respectful love in the Lord,

Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk

Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations
