Bishop Tikhon of Podolsk, administrator of the dioceses of Vienna, Austria and Hungary, has completed his archpastoral visit to Hungary and Austria.

On August 18, the eve of the Feast of the Transfiguration of Our Lord, Bishop Tikhon celebrated the All-Night Vigil at the Cathedral of the Dormition in Budapest. Concelebrating with the archpastor were the local clergymen.

On the feast day the administrator of the dioceses of Vienna, Austria and Hungary celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of St Sergius of Radonezh in Budapest. After the service, archpriest John Kadar, rector of the church, warmly greeted the hierarch. Bishop Tikhon thanked Father John, the clergy and the parishioners for the joy of common prayer, and delivered a homily.

On August 20, the celebrations marking the commemoration day of St Stephen the King of Hungary were held in Budapest.

That day Archbishop Feodor of Mukachevo and Uzhgorod and Bishop Tikhon of Podolsk officiated at the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Dormition in the capital of Hungary.

After that Vladyka Tikhon, together with the high officials of the county, took part in the procession of the cross with the relics of St Stephen that went along the central streets of Budapest, and later held meetings with the President of Hungary, Mr. János Áder, and with the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Zsolt Semjén.

In the evening, at an official reception, Bishop Tikhon greeted Péter Cardinal Erdő, Catholic Primate of Hungary, Archbishop of EsztergomBudapest, and wished him God’s help and the intercession of St Stephen in taking pastoral care of the Catholic faithful in Hungary.

On Auguest 21, the commemoration day of Ss Zosimas and Sabbatius of Solovki, Bishop Tikhon of Podolsk officiated at the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of St Nicholas in Vienna. Concelebrating with him was archpriest Vladimir Tyschuk, rector of the church, and the local clerics. The service was traiditionally celebrated in the German and Church Slavonic languages. A homily delivered by Bishop Tikhon followed the Liturgy.
