On 27 August 2016, the eve of the feast of the Dormition of Our Most Holy Lady the Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary, His Beatitude Metropolitan Rastislav of the Czech Lands and Slovakia celebrated the All-Night Vigil at the Moscow Representation of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia.

Concelebrating with His Beatitude were Archbishop Michal of Prague and the Czech Lands; Bishop Antonije of Moravicí, representative of the Serbian Patriarch to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia; Bishop Tikhon of Podolsk; Archimandrite Seraphim (Shemyatovsky), rector of the Representation of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia in Moscow; archpriest Alexander Abramov, dean of the Pokrovskoye deanery in Moscow; archpriest Nikolai Lischenyuk, rector of the Russian Orthodox Church’s Representation in Karlovy Vary; Hegumen Feofan (Lukyanov), head of the Protocol Sector of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations; archpriest Igor Yakimchuk, DECR Secretary for Inter-Orthodox Relations; Hieromonk Alexander (Halushka), secretary of the Representation of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia in Moscow; and clerics of the church.

After the service, Archimandrite Seraphim (Shemyatovsky) greeted His Beatitude Metropolitan Rastislav and wished him longevity and God’s help in his Primatial ministry.

The Primate of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia expressed his gratitude to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia for the opportunity to visit the Russian Orthodox Church. “Today the Lord has shown to us His great mercy so that we could visit as pilgrims the Holy Trinity and St Sergius Laura and venerate its shrines,” His Beatitude said in particular.
