His Holiness Patriarch Kirill extends condolences over terrorist attacks in Syria

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia expressed condolences to the President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Mr. Bashar Al-Assad, over terrorist attacks in the cities of Jableh and Tartous, which had claimed the lives of over one hundred people. The text of the message is given below.

Your Excellency, dear Mr. President,

I was deeply grieved to learn about terrorist attacks committed in the cities of Jableh and Tartous. As the result of the tragedy, many people were killed and injured. Please accept my sincere condolences.

Trying to put obstacles in the way of re-establishment of peace in the country and to sow panic and fear among people, terrorists committed yet another atrocious crime. It is my conviction that no matter what the killers were guided by, their unjustifiable actions will fail to reach their goals.

Please convey my words of consolation and support to the relatives and friends of those killed and injured. I wish to you and to all people of Syria fortitude and strength in opposing evil and violence.
