Commemoration Day of St Nicholas the Wonderworker celebrated in Bari
On 22 May 2016, the feast of translation of the relics of St Nicholas the Wonderworker from Myra in Lycia to Bari, Bishop Antony of Bogorodsk, administrator of the Moscow Patriarchate’s parishes in Italy, participated in the divine service at the Basilica of St Nicholas in Bari.
Officiating at the Liturgy was Metropolitan Juvenaly of Krutitsy and Kolomna. Among those celebrating with him were Metropolitan Kirill of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye; Metropolitan Merkury of Rostov and Novocherkassk; Archbishop Feofilakt of Pyatigorsk and Cherkessk; Bishop Andrei of Rossosh and Ostrogozhsk; Bishop Flavian of Cherepovets and Belozersk; Bishop Sergiy of Semiluki; archpriest Andrei Boytsov, rector of the Patriarchal Metochion in Bari; Hieromonk Amvrosiy (Matsegora), sacristan of the Church of the Holy Great Martyr Catherine in Rome; and other priests.
After the service, a thanksgiving was said at the relics of St Nicholas the Wonderworker, website of the Church of St Catherine in Rome reports.
