Primate of Russian Orthodox Church greets His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia with Slava, the commemoration day of his family’s patron saint
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia sent a message of greetings to the Archbishop of Peć and Metropolitan of Belgrade and Karlovci, His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia, on his Krsna Slava – that is how the commemoration day of a family’s patron saint is called in Serbia. The Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church celebrates his Slava on the Saturday of Lazarus. The text of the message is given below.
Your Holiness, beloved Brother and Concelebrant at God’s Altar,
Please accept my heartfelt greetings with the Day of Krsna Slava.
The raising of Lazarus from the dead that we prayerfully commemorate today, prepares us for the great and salvific Feast of feasts and Triumph of triumphs – Pascha of Christ.
May the Lord, generous in his mercy and the Lover of mankind, as is confirmed by His deeds (Canon read during the Grand Compline on Friday of the Palm Week, Ode 4), send to the flock of the Serbian Orthodox Church peace and consolation, and to Your Holiness, physical and spiritual strength, unceasing joy and bountiful help in your lofty Patriarchal ministry.
