Inter-Council Presence Commission on Theology holds its regular session

On 4 April 2016, the Commission on Theology of the Inter-Council Presence of the Russian Orthodox Church held its regular session at the Department for External Church Relations under the chairmanship of the head of the Commission, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, DECR chairman, rector of Ss Cyril and Methodius Theological Institute of Postgraduate Studies, head of the Synodal Biblical and Theological Commission.

Among those who took part in the meeting were professors of St Tikhon’s Orthodox University and the Moscow and the St. Petersburg Theological Academies, as well as members of the Synodal Biblical and Theological Commission.

The participants in the meeting discussed the following draft documents: ‘Faith and Science,’ ‘Theology as Science and Its Place in the System of Knowledge,’ and ‘Theological Understanding of Bioethics,’ and adopted the final text of the document ‘The Church’s Prayer for the Unbaptized.’
