Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations has extended condolences to the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Mr. Iyad bin Amin Madani, over the tragedy in Mecca in which hundreds of people were killed and injured.

 

Dear Mr. Madani,

With profound sorrow I have learnt about the tragedy in Mecca in which tens of people were killed and hundreds were seriously injured and traumatized.

Please accept my sincere and profound condolences over this tragedy. Kindly convey them to representatives of the countries united in your organization.

We empathize with the relatives and friends of the victims, wishing them fortitude and courage at this mournful day.
